Growth in Indian classifieds business has mainly come from B2C (e.g. Jobs, Properties, Cars, etc.) not C2C. Hence, OLX and Quikr–the 2 leading Indian players–are abandoning their horizontal C2C positioning and moving towards being B2C verticals. Read more here.

Facebook is a player that can be the disruptor here! Its marketplace is currently only available in US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. But it is a matter of time before Facebook brings the concept to India.
