So, anyone who has been considering Amazon to be sole big boy in the market is badly mistaken!
Alibaba is the other big boy in the fray, and it has 2 options for India entry: either acquire existing players (such as ShopClues, FlipKart, Snapdeal, etc.) or make a direct entry.
While the acquisition route may be the quickest, the disagreements over valuations could mar any deal. But, the upcoming Diwali festival season sales could bring some more clarity to the valuations!
Eventually, Indian eCommerce business is going to be a story of the duel between the 2 big boys: Alibaba and Amazon!
